Professors from the Universities of Murcia, Valencia and Complutense, as well as representatives of various NGOs and experts in the field of refugees, participate in the cycle "Refugee Crisis: Human Rights and Duties of Europe", to be held in the Aula of Culture of Cajamurcia de Gran Vía 23 on October 4, 5 and 6, and which is coordinated by Ana Morenete Iranzo.
The cycle will begin on Wednesday, October 4, with the presentation of Concepción Ruiz Caballero, Social Council Delegate for Social Rights, who will hold the debate "Who are the refugees ?, the situation of the refugees and the duties of Europe? in which Cesareo Gutiérrez Espada, María Teresa Vicente and José Vázquez Pedreño, professors of the University of Murcia, as well as Javier de Lucas, of the University of Valencia and former president of the Spanish Commission of Aid to the Refugee will participate.
On Thursday 5, at 8:00 p.m., the roundtable "NGO Meeting: Moving into Action, presented by María del Carmen López, Vice-rector of Social Responsibility, Transparency and Equality of the UMU, and member of the Coordinating Committee of the RefugiUM Plan, with the participation of Fátima Morales, (Oxfam Intermón Murcia), Manuel Castellano (Platform for Assistance to Refugees of Murcia) Moisés Navarro, President of the Coordinator of Nongovernmental Organizations for the Development of the Region of Murcia and territorial delegate of the International Foundation for Human Rights, and Noelia Martínez Moreno (Murcia Acoge).
The program will culminate on Friday, October 6 at 9.30 pm, with a talk entitled "Refugees from different perspectives. Crisis of values ​​in the face of humanitarian crisis", moderated by Pilar Garrido, UMU professor and General Coordinator of the Campus of Excellence International Mare Nostrum, with the participation of Carlos Berzosa, President of the Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance, and Pedro Rojo, president of the Al Fanar Foundation for Arab Knowledge.
