The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, opens this afternoon, at 20.00 hours, the photographic exhibition commemorating the 20 years of professional career of the Mobile Emergency and Social Care Service (SEMAS) of the City of Murcia.
The exhibition that houses the hall of Moneo is composed of different images that reflect the interventions carried out on the street by this municipal service over the last two decades, as well as photographs of the team that compose it and that is available 24 hours of the day to give attention to the most vulnerable people.
Homeless, care for the elderly and children at risk of social exclusion, special devices against catastrophes and waves of extreme temperature are some of the services provided by SEMAS since it was instituted in 1997.
The exhibition faces the municipal employees that make up the service (social workers and local police officers), as well as volunteers who collaborate disinterestedly in the social care actions carried out by SEMAS.
National seminars on care for social emergency
In addition to this exhibition, Murcia will host this week the National Days of Emergency Care from Social Services, which are part of the 20th anniversary of SEMAS, which will involve professionals and public officials in the sector of different Spanish cities.
The seminars will be held this Thursday and Friday (5 and 6 October) in the Hall of Moneo Acts and will allow discussing and analyzing about the different resources to attend to social emergencies that exist in our country.
