Itineraries in natural spaces of the Municipality, workshops, seminars and volunteering and other novelties to promote environmental awareness in the municipality The environmental education program begins its 22nd edition and the school gardens program celebrates its 10th anniversary.
A total of 25,452 students enjoyed the last course of the environmental education program and attended to 62 centers of the municipality
Antonio Navarro, councilor of Urbanism, Environment and Huerta, presented this morning the new programming of environmental activities for the next quarter, in October, November and December in order to promote training, awareness and environmental awareness in the Municipality.
These activities, which are aimed at all the publics, are composed of two seminars, nature workshops for family, seven itineraries and guided environmental routes, and five activities of the environmental volunteer program that will be developed in different natural spaces of the municipality as the Contraparada or the municipal forest park Majal Blanco.
The seminars and workshops will be held on October 29 in the Contraparada and on December 17 in the White Majal.
The itineraries will be held on 14 and 21 October, both at the Majal Blanco, 4, 11 and 18 November with a route to the gypsum mines of the Miravete, Majal Blanco and the Rambla del Cigarrón respectively, and 2 and 16 of December in the Castles of Monteagudo and in the White Majal.
As for volunteering, will be held on 7 and 21 October, with the preparation of a guide of plants of the interpretive trail of the plaster quarry in the White Majal and with the research of the vegetation of the Contraparada.
On 11 and 25 November the maintenance of the ecological orchard and the construction of rafts for amphibian recovery will take place, and the last day of volunteering will be on December 9 with the plantation for the recovery of the forest on the banks of the river Segura.
Volunteering and itineraries will take place on Saturdays, while workshops and seminars in nature will be held on Sundays.
As a novelty activities have been incorporated to get to know the Huerta de Murcia and Segura River.
In addition, will have the collaboration of different associations of the municipality as ANSE and ASTRAPACE.
Navarro has stated that "through this program it is proposed to bring neighbors to the natural spaces of our municipality, we invite you from the City Council to participate in these activities created and programmed to enjoy our natural environment."

During the beginning of this year the number of participants has increased compared to previous years.
At the point of environmental information of the White Majal has been informed to 437 people, whereas in the Contraparada has been visited by 1743.
As far as Visits of the Visitor Center of the White Majal is concerned, there have been 206 people who have come to know him during the 21 Sundays that he has been open.
In addition, in the itineraries and guided environmental routes the attendance has been of 246 people.

A total of 25,452 students enjoyed the course 2016-2017 of the offer that the program "Murcia, ecology of a city" offers to scholars and associations of the municipality of Murcia.
In the previous year, the environmental education program served 62 centers in the municipality, which represents approximately 33% of total schools.
To this figure must be added 3 groups, the Center for Disabled El Palmar (IMAS), the Hospital Room of the Arrixaca and the Center for Minors Santo Angel.
This new course, the program offers a wide and varied offer of activities, as well as some novelties in the part of "Ecoaula", "School gardens" and "Green Schools".
The "Network of ecological school gardens of the municipality of Murcia" (RHEMU) will serve around 45 educational centers, with the main objective of providing resources and advising those who request it, as well as maintain and take advantage of more efficiently already existing.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its implementation, it is intended to organize the Days of School gardens of the municipality.
"Green Schools", incorporates 3 new centers to the program, adding to the existing 22 of the previous course.
This course aims to form the "Network of Green Schools of the Municipality of Murcia" with the main objective of providing a platform where all schools can benefit from the experiences and materials that each center generates each year, as well as being connected between yes.
"Ecoaula" continues to maintain its structure of talks, workshops and didactic visits, and given the current high demand by schools, this year offers an educator more able to serve twice as many centers as last year.
As a novelty, Ecoaula offers a new theme "Know your city" from infancy to secondary education, which seeks to encourage among citizens school awareness, care and respect for spaces and public furniture, among others.
This new topic is having a lot of acceptance, about 10 centers have already requested it.
In relation to the environmental itineraries offered by the program, the visit to La Contraparada, which brings the students to know a little more the history associated with the water culture in Murcia, is one of the most requested consolidating this itinerary in the offer of the program.
The exhibition "Murcia, ecology of a city" as the previous year, maintains its demand in its loan scheme.
This course is already 10 centers that have requested it.
