The contracted professors of the University of Murcia (UMU), about 240, have seen the collection of the remunerations corresponding to triennial and five-year periods, which they have received with effect from January 2016.
The news was provided by the rector, Jose Orihuela, during the session of the Governing Council held Friday in the Convalescence building, headquarters of the Rector.
Orihuela has commented that it fulfills thus the promise made by the team that presides when arriving at the Rectorado of this educational institution.
The Council, on the other hand, has approved the content of the collaboration agreement signed with Prosur, which will create the Chair of Food Biotechnology, with a funding of 30,000 euros per year, as reported by the Vice Chancellor of Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Francisca Tomás.
Professor Tomas referred to a second agreement, approved in this same session, in this case, to sign with the company Eurofins Villapharma Research, for the joint development of two industrial doctorates and, in addition, will allow to enhance the practices of students in the same.
This governing body has also approved the call for aid to transfer research results and support to knowledge-based companies, which are earmarked 30,000 euros.
The researchers of the UMU will be beneficiaries of the mimas, individually or in group.
The Board has approved the appointment of the following emeritus professors: Manuel Acosta, Juan Cuello, Mariano de Paco, Margarita Martínez de la Torre, José Meseguer, Manuel Rubio and Mariano Valdés, in addition to agreeing to renew others.
Within the Rector's report, Orihuela has indicated that after the resignation of the Vice-Rector Bernardo Cascales, the competencies of International Relations will be assumed by the Vice-rector of Students, Carmen Ferrándiz, while he himself will host the Coordination.
