The University Auditorium of the University of Murcia (UMU) will host a Seminar on Applications of Language Technologies during the 20th of September, at the opening ceremony of the Secretary of State for the Information Society, José María Lassalle, has referred to some of the projects that drives his department.
Thus, he commented that work is being carried out on the development of a tool for its application in the field of Justice and Health.
By means of algorithms, it will be possible to process everything with respect to the semantic content of judicial decisions, clinical histories and technical data sheets of medicines, which will achieve a great semantic saving, he commented.
The opening session was attended by the President of the Spanish Society for Natural Language Processing, promoter of the international conference held in parallel to the Day, Luis Alfonso Ureña.
The Minister of Finance and Public Administrations, Andrés Carrillo, also referred to the main projects that the Autonomous Community has in place in these fields.
Among them, that of connected schools, which since the beginning of the course affects 80 centers and that in the next spring will extend to all existing in the Region.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, has offered congressmen the most defining data of the city and has asked everyone to work to expand the borders of the Spanish language.
The rector of the UMU, José Orihuela, has highlighted the importance of the topics that will be analyzed in these meetings and the attention that the institution that presides has for many years provided the applications of language technologies, which advanced the faculties of Literature and Informatics.
