The opposition parties of the City of Murcia, PSOE, Citizens, Cambiemos Murcia and Now Murcia, have denounced that, although the councilman for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesus Francisco Pacheco, promised that it would open in September, the Pavilion 2 of the Artillery Barracks is still closed.
The four formations have asked the mayor, José Ballesta, that "since the mayor of Culture has not assumed their responsibilities," he himself met with the Platform in Support of the Artillery Barracks, in which the groups artistic and neighborhood organizations that carried out their work in these facilities, and with the opposition to give an account of the situation and the foreseen actions.
In this regard, they recalled that Pacheco stated in the June plenary that there was cultural programming in Pavilion 2 for the new course "while reading the last exercise as if it were new."
"You can not negotiate with someone who does not tell the truth," they said.
The opposition has demanded the mayor to comply with the motion approved by the Town Hall Plenary and to maintain the uses that were being carried out in Hall 2 until its closure.
Activities related to theater, music, fashion, sculpture, short stories, literature, photography, cinema cycles and illustration fairs have been developed in recent years in Pavilions 1 and 2 with a direct impact on neighbors and neighbors and of the whole municipality.
In fact, many of the projects that started as residences have become businesses and a multitude of basic cultural proposals have served to underpin the southern culture of the city.
The motion also called on the Government Team to agree to accept the main proposals arising from the participatory process on the uses of Pavilions 1 and 2 of the Artillery Barracks promoted by the Municipal Board of El Carmen.
