'They become accusers, judges and executioners, knowing, from the first moment, that they lack the truth'
'Resolutions such as this show that the reason is not changed by the loudness of the shouting and by many false accusations that appear'
The Superior Prosecutor of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia decreed last June 19 the archiving of the investigations open as a result of the complaint of Now Murcia on the state of conservation of the Archaeological Site of San Esteban.
The prosecutor Diaz Manzanera made this decision 'to avoid deriving indications of crime'.
"Although eighty-seven days and eighty-seven nights have passed since the councilors of Now Murcia know that no one has given credit to their lies, we are still waiting for their apologies," lamented today the councilor of Grupo Popular, responsible for Concejalía de Fomento, which works on the recovery of the site and its surroundings.
"We demand a public rectification by the councilors Morales and Moreno because they can not give them free of charge their false allegations," said Ortiz, who emphasized that "Now Murcia has erred in its bad strategy of judicializing politics," and ventured that the file the cause 'has not been the first and surely it will not be the last because we are convinced that this will follow others who will arrive if it does not rectify.
Popular councilman was convinced that can not go well the strategy with which the councilors intend to 'win in the offices what the Murcia deny them with their votes'.
"Those who have so often accused the Popular Party with false accusations, petty lies and imputations without cause, turns out that it has been enough for twenty months to teach what the new policy brings us: They become accusers, judges and executioners, knowing , from the first moment, that lie, 'added Roque Ortiz, who has been accompanied by Rebeca Perez.
Filed in 4 months
The Office of the Prosecutor of the Region of Murcia opened investigations in connection with the criminal complaint brought by Now Murcia on 30 December on the abandonment of the San Esteban site, claiming that there had been an alleged omission in the maintenance of a declared good of Cultural Interest and the possible breach of the legislation on historical heritage by the Directorate General of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Community and the City of Murcia.
The investigations, which were communicated to the City Council on February 9, were filed by decree of the Superior Prosecutor dated June 19, 2017, as no indications of crime were derived.
The City Council was involved in the case and provided an exhaustive documentation arguing and giving evidence of the numerous actions carried out at the site.
The file consisted of:
The protocol of action between the City and the Autonomous Community for the joint action in the archaeological zone of San Esteban
Report of the municipal archaeologist detailing all the actions taken at the site
Report of the Directorate General of Cultural Property dated July 15, 2016 regarding the state of conservation of the site where the general state of the remains was considered to be correct
List of recruitment files for the conservation of the archaeological site since 2009
Copy of the contract for the renewal of conservation and protection measures for the archaeological remains of the garden of San Esteban
On the other hand, in order to be able to carry out the inspection and visit to the site on March 16, the UMU professors designated by the rector at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office were authorized to enter the expert's report agreed upon by the same state of the deposit.
The organ has corroborated that the management carried out by the Government of the Popular Party in the City Council is impeccable, adequate and appropriate.
'We have worked hard and well to recover an environment that, despite some, will become the largest tourist attraction and cultural center of the urban center, thanks to the recovery of both the archaeological area, the palace and the church' .
Invitation to do politics
After this resolution of the Prosecutor's Office, the Popular Party hopes that Now Murcia will give up its attitude of 'sowing doubts without credit, or even pointing out, the existence of indications about irregularities of management and that is dedicated to doing politics of truth, far from resorting to abusive, dictatorial and inquisitive practices, as one of the electoral lists comrades assured of both councilors.
To conclude, Roque Ortiz encouraged them to begin to value elementary principles such as honesty, rectitude and decency, and to admit that "reason is not changed by the loudness that is shouted and by many baseless claims that arise."
Despite this obstructionist and obstructive attitude on the part of this opposition group, the Municipal Government will continue 'working because no one should doubt that Murcia of 2019 will be better than that of 2015'.
Thus, the site of San Esteban and its surroundings will open the Murcia to become a landmark of the city,
the Old Prison and Alfonso X will be equally recovered as new urban spaces and the districts will be the subject of an ambitious investment plan.
"In these two years we have carried out an intense work in the design of a new model of city, that from now on will begin to become evident," Ortiz concluded.
