The mayor of the orange formation Carlos Peñafiel will defend this initiative in the form of a motion because the current ordinance, of 2002, has been totally out of date
The mayor of Ciudadanos Carlos Peñafiel is going to file a motion in the plenary this month demanding to the local government a modification of the ordinance that regulates the cleaning of lots in the municipality, regardless of its nature and ownership.
"An ordinance that goes back to 2002 and that," according to Peñafiel, "is outdated, since it does not even conform to the 2005 Soil Law and its subsequent modifications, in addition to having inconsistencies within the same text."
During the meeting held yesterday by the mayor of the orange formation with councilman Heritage, Rafael Gomez, Peñafiel spoke of the need to draft a new ordinance that adapts to the times and cover the shortcomings of the current, while ensuring for legal security and provide protection to citizens.
He thus mentioned that "this ordinance does not establish, for example, how to act with the land located in the orchard areas, which is generating", in the opinion of the mayor of Cs, "a huge legal vacuum;
and a series of important problems, such as the fire that occurred in La Arboleja last August as a result of the abandonment and accumulation of scrubland in a plot of land with adjacent houses, despite having requested in writing its cleaning a month before, which would have possibly avoided this event and, consequently, the expense of municipal resources.
