The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, attended today the meeting with the media offered by the circus of the Circo del Sol Vicente Quirós, prior to the great balancing show that will take place tomorrow on the waters of the Segura.
The artist will cross the Segura on a cable less than 2 cm thick, with a length of 90 meters and installed at a height of 11 meters (equivalent to a sixth floor) on the monument to the Sardine.
The show can be seen tomorrow Wednesday, at 19.30, at the height of the River Mills.
"I am proud to act in Murcia," said Vicente Quirós, an international artist who resides in the village of Corvera and will, for the first time, cross the Segura waters on a wire.
First he will do it walking to, then, to climb a bicycle on which will go from one end to another of the cable.
Finally, he will use as an artistic element a chair from which he will carry out various balancing exercises, accompanied by music.
It will be an unprecedented performance that this sixth-generation circus performer, whose parents also reside in Corvera district, will offer in Murcia after arriving from his tour of Singapore and performing all over the world.
José Ballesta wanted to "thank Vicente Quirós for his generosity and love for Murcia, the land where he has decided to settle" and invited "all Murcia not to miss this impressive montage, which is one of the highlights of the Fair September".
