The Municipal Socialist Group today raised the Government team, PP, "stop patching and mend the schools of the municipality and undertake the major reforms they need to have the level that corresponds to the educational centers of the twenty-first century" , affirms the socialist spokesman, Susana Hernández.
In this regard, he has criticized that the children of the municipality return to school with the same deficiencies year after year, so Hernández regrets that "this new course will again report, unfortunately, the need to remove the elements of asbestos, lack of shade, of space or of electric power that prevents to start the digital slates and the conditioned air, among others ".
In particular, to give some examples, is the school of La Cruz, in El Campillo, El Esparragal, which as denounced by the PSOE on several occasions in recent years has serious space problems.
It has no music class or library.
In fact, in the past year the students were divided into mixed classrooms (1 ° -2 ° and 3 ° -4 °), and even some of the classes were given occasionally in the teachers' room.
In addition, it has deficiencies of access.
"It has started a new course and everything is the same. The feeling is that we are not moving forward and that the PP is letting the public school die of starvation," says Hernández.
In this regard, he adds that in the school of San José de la Vega, which has eliminated a line, despite the protests of parents, there are flooding in the playground, while in Guadalupe students begin the course without air conditioning promised after the demonstrations of parents and students of June.
"We do not listen to the demands of the educational community, which lives every day the deficiencies of the schools and that the only thing that is intended is a quality education for our children," Hernández says.
Meanwhile, says the councilor, "we see how concerted education is acquiring an increasing role to the detriment of the public school, which has always been one of our most achievable social achievements with the complicity of the regional government, PP also, that seems to be more concerned with benefiting the private than with fulfilling its responsibility to equip its centers with the necessary resources to be able to boast of a quality public education. "
For this reason, the Socialist spokesperson warns that "with palicos and cannicas do not solve the real problems of our schools, so we are going to stop patching, which is the only thing that the City Council does, while the Ministry of Education does not invest a hard in public school ".
