In relation to the news appeared this morning about the quality of the waters of the Segura River in Murcia, the Segura Hydrographic Confederation must declare:
First, what the CHS has communicated to Huermur is that the waters of the urban stretch of the river Segura in Murcia does not have the official statement of "bathing waters".
It is important to point out that no section of the Segura river from its source to the mouth of the river is declared a bathing area (known as a river beach) not because its waters are suitable or not, but because the administrative process has not been initiated to declare it.
In addition, the declaration of a river beach involves other requirements besides the analysis of its waters.
Secondly, the declaration of bathing areas does not correspond to the State Administration.
If requested by the competent administration, the administrative process for this declaration will be initiated.
