The training considers that the scope and quality of the parties would improve with a space that meets the necessary conditions of security, accessibility and servicesThe councilman of Cambiemos Murcia Nacho Tornel today called on the Government team to comply with the motion approved by the Plenary last October and, in coordination with the municipal groups, look for another site to celebrate the festive activities that have been carried out until now in El Malecón, in order to avoid the degradation of this emblematic space.
Tornel recalled that El Malecón was declared a Cultural Interest (BIC) and is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Spain.
Therefore, it is an environment that is part of the cultural heritage, natural and landscape of the citizenship, and requires care and protection by the municipal Administration. The initiative approved by the Corporation last year, proposed by the training municipal government, urged the municipal government to project a large garden equipped with the necessary infrastructure and services for the realization of fairs and festivals and the installation of booths, markets and scenarios, so that the seasons that are not used for that purpose can be used as a public garden.
The mayor of Cambiemos Murcia has insisted that it would be more convenient to celebrate the festive activities that take place in El Malecón in a location of these characteristics, both because of the nature of events, requiring more suitable conditions of security, accessibility and in as for the services offered, as for the space itself.
"Moving the events to a properly-equipped precinct would help citizens enjoy better enjoyment and, at the same time, contribute to the protection of a historic place," said Tornel, who has also emphasized the benefits which would be a new space to improve the development of the Orchards, the Wine Fair, concerts and activities of the different associations.
