The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has approved the granting of financial aid to the Fundación Secretariado Gitano for the implementation of projects that promote the social inclusion of Roma students, one of the sectors of the population with the highest rates of social exclusion and ethnic minority.
"From the Department of Social Rights have been developing various programs for the promotion and integration of the collective in our municipality, which will be reinforced with this new grant of 73,000 euros that will allow the implementation of the project" JACHIVELAR in community intervention in the municipality of Murcia, "highlighted Conchita Ruiz.
A plan that seeks to promote the educational normalization of Roma students to achieve higher rates of academic success in the last cycle of Primary Education and Compulsory Secondary Education, and promote continuity in middle and / or higher studies and vocational training.
At the same time, the aim is to promote equality of treatment and non-discrimination of the Roma community and to develop actions aimed at the social and personal promotion of Roma women whose target groups are institutions, administrations, social organizations and Roma women and victims of discrimination.
