The Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, is working on the planting of seasonal flowers to mark the beginning of the course and the Murcia Fair.
The Parks and Gardens Service is currently working on planting 50,000 plants with flowers to beautify these public spaces.
"We are looking for those Murcia who return from their vacations and tourists who visit our city during these days find it in perfect condition," said Councilman José Guillén.
These plantations are being carried out mainly in La Glorieta, Plaza Camachos, Floridablanca Garden, Plaza Condestable, Malecón, Plaza Santa Isabel, Garden of the Salitre, garden of Fofó, Plaza Díez de Revenga, medians of Juan Carlos I and Juan de Borbón and planters Of the center area and the Fuensanta.
The type of flowers used are mainly ajetes, vincas, surfinias, geraniums and coleos.
These are seasonal plants, appropriate for the summer period and the type of water and substrate existing in the gardens of Murcia and districts.
It should be remembered that the flower plants are periodically replenished by performing three main actions in the municipality.
Among the most used species are kalanchoe, carnations, daisies, geraniums, hydrangeas and begonias.
In the first six months of the year, 323,904 flower plants were planted.
