The Murcia and Parque Alquerías bibliopiscinas have welcomed 1,290 users in just a month and a half, since they were put into operation on July 4.
Councilor for Education and Heritage, Rafael Gómez, explained that "the reception of the service by the users has been good, generating acceptance and recognition among the bathers regulars of other years and arousing the curiosity of new bathers, potential readers."
In the pool Murcia Parque have registered 560 readings and 411 users, of which 259 have read press and 301 books.
Of the total number of readings, 245 have been juvenile / adult and 166 children.
Regarding the type of readings preferred, in adults a clear decantation is observed by the daily press and periodicals.
The daily press is more demanded by the male sex with 85% and 15% by the female.
By contrast, women prefer magazines with 80% and 20% men.
Regarding the books most read by the young reader has been in the first place 'Where is Wally?'
With 23 readings;
'Super Jokes' with 20 readings;
'The Simpsons' with 18 readings;
'Mortadelo y Filemón' with 13 readings;
'The Rubius' with 9 readings;
'Madagascar' with 7 readings;
And 'Saber Cooking recipes light' with 6 readings, among others.
As for the smaller readers, the most read has been 'The secret of the island of the whales' with 7 readings, 'The princesses are also farting' with 7 readings;
'Madagascar' with 7 readings, 'The fairy Mimi and her friends' with 6 readings, and 'Peppa Pig' with 6 readings.
Regarding the Alquerías library, 488 readings and 730 users have been registered, of which 198 have read the press and 532 books.
Of the total number of readings, 208 have been juvenile / adult and 280 children.
Among the youth group has enjoyed a great success both deliveries of a comic written and starring a Spanish youtuber specialized in video games, The Rubius, 'Virtual Hero'.
Also popular are the books of 'Where is Wally?'
And those of riddles and jokes.
The younger ones have enjoyed the broader spectrum of readings from all age ranges, although the books of today's children's characters have delighted the audience.
Books based on television programs or children's films such as The Minions, the Dog Patrol, Manny Manitas, Cars, Caillou, Transformers, etc., as well as the books of the series Candy the magic cat and the Hada Perla collection.
Also books dedicated to the animal world have caused interest in the child user.
During the summer of 2016 the service of Bibliopiscina worked between July 19 and August 31 and was used 1879 users who made a total of 1878 readings.
In this way the City Council extends the Municipal Library Network to the municipal swimming pools through the Bibliopiscas during the months of July and August.
This summer service has as main objectives to encourage reading and interest in culture and to disseminate the services of the Municipal Library Network of Murcia.
The Bibliopiscinas make available to users of the municipal swimming pools of Murcia-Park and Alquerías a small collection of materials (about 350 documents) intended for all audiences and requiring little time for reading (short novels, comics, short stories And informative books), as well as local press, national and sport daily and magazines of varied theme.
"This is a bet that we repeated this summer because of the good acceptance it had over the last year. The literary offer is very complete and from small to large can find a book with which to make your holidays more enjoyable," said Rafael Gómez , Councilor for Education, Relationship with Universities and Heritage, and responsible for this measure.
The bibliopiscinas are open from Tuesday to Sunday, coinciding with the opening days of the municipal swimming pools between 12:30 and 19:00 hours.
