The Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage is involved in the execution of improvement works in 21 schools in the municipality to finalize them before the beginning of the school year.
Councilman Rafael Gómez visited this morning the work that is being carried out in the CEIP Mariano Aroca, already executed in 80%, so it is one of the centers that are ahead of the task.
As in previous years, these improvements are carried out in conjunction with the summer holidays and thus take advantage of the absence of activity to carry out the repairs without disturbing the teaching activity.
The technicians estimate that 63% of the works planned in all the centers have been done at the moment, although some more than surpass this percentage, such is the case of Our Lady of the Incarnation, of La Raya, whose level of execution reaches 85% or CEIP Saavedra Fajardo, from Algezares, CEIP Mariano Aroca from Murcia, and CEI La Naranja from Beniaján, which exceed 80%.
The works are going to be undertaken in 21 schools of districts and districts.
The school that will have the most reforms, depending on the economic amount, is the CEIP Francisco Giner de los Ríos, Santiago El Mayor - € 138,000 - where 90% of the fencing is replaced, followed by the CPEE Pérez Urruti, from Churra -120,000 € -, where the 4 toilets are renewed and it is planned to paint more than 1,700 meters of walls, and CEIP Mariano Aroca -60,498 € -.
The major repairs affect both the interior and exterior of the facilities and generally consist of painting, masonry, windows, pavements, water and sanitation network, cracks and improvement of the carpentry, as well as the replacement and waterproofing of Covers, repairs and integral replacement of toilets, improvement of drainage of pavements in patios, paintings of facades and interiors of the premises and buildings, as well as the replacement of fencing and repair of heating installations.
Rafael Gómez recalled that in addition to these repairs carried out in the summer, the rehabilitation programs of schools respond daily to the needs of the educational community, responding 365 days a year to incidents that occur.
