Rebeca Pérez announces items of € 332,000 for Summer Campaign activities, € 250,000 invested in European Programs and € 140,000 for La Nave, 585m2 and El Palmar centers. Grants for humanitarian aid as well as awareness-raising plans have a 12'65% more budget
The Department of Youth and Development Cooperation, directed by Rebeca Pérez, will have a total budget of 3,242,165 during 2017, of which € 2,262,955 will go to projects and activities as well as the promotion of youth activities in addition to development Of humanitarian aid projects.
This was announced by the councilor at a press conference, highlighting the significant growth of 15% of the items that revert to the benefit of young people in the municipality.
"The budget for 2017 undergoes a significant increase, close to 15%, with which we fulfill our commitments both with the youth of the municipality and with the humanitarian aid that many associations provide in countries affected by poverty or inclement weather and whose population becomes More vulnerable, "stressed Rebeca Perez during the presentation.
The Youth Service will have 2,700,000 euros, which means an increase of 15.32% of the money earmarked for activities over the previous year.
With this increase, and following the lines of action of previous years, the Council intends to continue promoting the Youth Service in order to obtain effective development and protection of their rights, promote equal opportunities, training and qualification, as well as Promote their free and effective participation in the political, social, economic and cultural development of the municipality.
All this through its four programs "with which it enhances the offer of courses, activities, exchanges or information and training services that are available to thousands of Murcia and Murcia," said the councilor.
In terms of dynamization, there are many plans in which Youth experiences an increase in the games, which translates into a greater reach for the youth of the municipality in the activities or workshops programmed.
- Youth mobility programs have been significantly strengthened in 2017, as they enable them to acquire new knowledge, improve their language skills, acquire new skills and competences and improve their employability.
Campamentos and Estancias Lingüística have increased their offer of places at a cost much lower than the market price, with the City Council assuming an important percentage of the same that oscillates between 20 and 30 percent.
In addition, with EVS and Intercambios, a mobility offer is completed for young people with the aim of facing the future on an equal footing with the rest of the young Europeans, which is why it has suffered a budget increase of 15%, surpassing 480,000 Euros.
- As for the CREAMURCIA Contest, the budget has increased by € 50,000 compared to the previous year, reaching 200,000 euros, highlighting as novelties the inclusion of a new discipline of "fashion design" and the modality of "microrelato" within the Discipline of literature and a fund of aids for the rent of premises of rehearsal to the most outstanding groups of this edition in the musical discipline (€ 16,000).
- The Network for Leisure Time program has a budget for 2017 of € 109,500, 6,500 more than in 2016, which allow the introduction of sports and multi-adventure activities in points of interest in our municipality: Río Segura, Contraparada, El Valle , The Light, etc.
- Also important is the consolidation of the collaboration agreement with 27 IES of the municipality with the purpose of dynamizing the school space by carrying out extra-specific activities as a complement to the training they receive and for which are allocated with these budgets about 110,000 € .
- In addition, in order to give visibility to the activities carried out by the Youth Service, as well as the creativity of the young Murcia talent and gives continuity to "Murcia Moves" with an event on fashion and gastronomy that took place last 7 July in the Molinos del Rio and another that will take place during the first half of October in the Artillery Barracks.
The budget for both amounts to € 85,000.

A new call has been launched for the 2017/2018 course, with the aim of further promoting the participation of young people in all social fields, promoting youth associationism for which 60,000 euros are allocated.
To this are added 37,000 euros for the advisory service for participation, technical assistance and training to youth associations in the municipality of Murcia.
But undoubtedly the largest item in Participation is the one destined to the young spaces, with a total of 140,000 euros.
La Nave, 585m2 and El Palmar form a municipal network of youth facilities formed by three young spaces that have become a reference point for training, culture, participation and social integration.
Last year they had a program of more than 724 different activities and a total of 22,800 participants, while so far this year have held about 600 with more than 110,000 entries.
Lastly, in relation to Informajoven and the services provided by the Council continues the commitment to maintain the level of information, advice and documentation both on the activities organized by the City aimed at young people, as well as calls, publications and all types Of activities outside the Town Hall and that may be of interest to young people.
To this end, a new and more accessible website is launched.
As regards the Special European Information Service (Eurodek) offering information on accommodation in European countries, Education and Training in Europe, Work in Europe, Traveling for Europe, Youth Exchanges in Europe, European Youth Volunteering, or European Programs and Initiatives, Rebecca Perez has reported that more than 40,000 euros will be spent and during the first half of 2017 499 consultations have been attended.
In addition there is a € 20,000 correspondent scholarship and information distribution of the 82 Youth Information Points distributed in Secondary Education Institutes, Baccalaureate and / or Vocational Centers, Cultural Centers and Local Youth Associations.
Finally 31,500 euros are invested for the creation of a new sociological study on the youth of the municipality of Murcia, which serves as the basis for the preparation of the First Municipal Youth Plan, € 8,900 for the Psychosocial Advisory Service, as well as € 5,000 For the fight against pathological gambling program.
Development Cooperation
Regarding the Development Cooperation area, which increases the budget by 11.74%, Rebeca Pérez has announced that it will have about 475,755 euros, more than half of which will go to the call for cooperation projects.

In 2016, 26 projects were subsidized.
In terms of awareness, there is on the one hand funds for activities organized by the City Council, such as Cooperator's Day, support for sports activities, exhibitions, etc.

On the other hand, it is also planned to approve a call for awareness projects for 50,000 euros through which NGOs can submit projects of this nature to carry out in the municipality of Murcia.
In the call for the year 2016, 6 projects were subsidized.
And finally, in the chapter on humanitarian aid, collaboration is being provided to countries that have suffered some catastrophe, with a 50% increase in funding.
In this regard, it should be noted that in the past year, three disasters have been provided, Ecuador in April 2016, Haiti in October 2016 and Peru in April 2017.
