The project, promoted by Fomento and Urbanismo, will transform the railway lines into a natural and green route, for pedestrian and cyclist use, along 8 kilometers and about 200,000 m2 of leisure, leisure and sport area.

Councilors Roque Ortiz and Antonio Navarro presented this morning the project to the presidents of municipal councils and members of the Corporation with the purpose of making their contributions and suggestions.

The landscaping and natural treatment of the environment will take special care in the green path that the City Council plans to create along 8 kilometers in the Southern Coast, because of the old railroad.

To do this, the project drafted by the technicians of the councils of Development and Urbanism, Environment and Huerta provides for the planting of 1,800 trees of native species throughout the route, on both sides of the walk, which will have a width of 5 meters and Will be compatible for use by pedestrians and cyclists.

Roque Ortiz and Antonio Navarro have held a meeting this morning with the presidents of the eight municipal councils affected -Zeneta, Alquerías, Los Ramos, Torreagüera, Beniaján, San Jose de la Vega, Los Garres and Los Dolores- and representatives of the political groups , In order to explain the progress made for the drafting of the project, based on the draft that they already knew.

From now on, the proposals and suggestions that they consider appropriate to improve performance will be studied.

The estimated cost amounts to one million euros, not including the urban treatment of the crossings, which will be the subject of individualized projects.

The itinerary includes the passage through the towns of Beniaján, Torreagüera and Los Ramos-Alquerías, where specific urban integration plans will be drawn up.

On the other hand, when the path reaches the three existing railway stations in Los Ramos, Torreagüera and Beniaján, the central walkway will be diverted by the lateral platforms, which will allow the old streets to be recreated in the central space, which will also be used to create museums Train-related, incorporating parts that can be acquired or assigned by the railway administrator, such as wagons, locomotives or signals.
