The Board of Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Murcia (UMU) has unanimously approved the proposal for the honorary doctorate award of the director general of the company Estrella de Levante and graduate of this center, Patricio Valverde.
The faculty, led by Professor Pedro Lozano as Dean, has assumed the proposal made by Professor of Chemical Engineering Fuensanta Máximo Martín.
The proposal indicates that Patricio Valverde has rendered his services to the aforementioned company, which is classified as "one of the industrial emblems of the Region of Murcia", for more than forty years in positions of increasing responsibility.
The proposal echoes also the charges that throughout his career has occupied in different business organizations.
It is also stated that since he has held the position of CEO of the company has promoted numerous training agreements with educational centers in the Region of Murcia, in particular, UMU.
It also highlights its status as a graduate of the faculty, which has always been a solid bridge of cooperation with it, "welcoming hundreds of students in practices in Estrella de Levante since the 1980s. Currently, the company receives an average of Two students a month in the academic period and seven a month in the summer, to practice both curricular and extracurricular. "
The proposal for the honorary doctorate award will now follow the planned procedure until arriving at the Cloister, the body responsible for granting this distinction.
