The UCAM and the Hyperbaric Society Development and Research have concluded an agreement for which at the beginning of October will offer a course of management of this camera with medical applications.
In addition, both entities will develop several pioneering research in areas such as radiotherapy oncology or in the world of sport, where the Hyperbaric Oxygenation Medicine has much to contribute.
The president of the Catholic University, José Luis Mendoza and the representative of the Hyperbaric Society Development and Research, Victoriano Campos, have signed an agreement for which in October they will offer the course of Monoplaza Hyperbaric Chamber Operator.
The sophistication of these chambers requires increasingly specialized and qualified operators, since their manipulation is very complex and, although the operator does not require sanitary training, if it must have very specific skills to handle the air compressors, pressurized gas reserves Or special devices.
This is a 20-hour title that will be held in early October at the facilities of the Arais Foundation Hyperbaric Oxygenation Clinic.
In it, operators will acquire the necessary knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, use an automatic external defibrillator or be familiar with the use of gases, since the hyperbaric chamber is pressurized with oxygen or air according to the criterion of the practitioner.
This title of UCAM will offer its students previous experience as a hyperbaric chamber operator, as they will perform 30 treatments of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in real patients in the centers attached to the program, so that the student will receive a certificate of experience.
The use of Hyperbaric Oxygenation Medicine offers new therapies that are faster than conventional therapies, so they can reduce costs.
In the world of sports hyperbaric medicine achieves a faster and more complete recovery, since it relaxes the nervous system and oxygenates the body, giving the possibility to re-train more quickly.
This initiative, promoted by the Technological Institute of the University of Madrid (ITM) together with the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University "Establishes the bases of a wider collaboration in which both institutions already work, and which, in addition to the March of new lines of research in this subject will incorporate the specialized training of students of degrees such as Physiotherapy, Dentistry and Medicine programs of expert, specialist and University Master related to hyperbaric medicine "according to Victoriano Campos.
