A total of 24 members of the Administration and Services Staff (PAS) of the University of Murcia (UMU) have taken part in the DIGES Learning Community, which has been supervised as trainers by Fernando Martín Rubio and Catalina Guerrero Romera.
The goal of the workshop was to establish two projects, based on the identification of shortcomings or concrete problems, whose implementation would lead to the improvement of the university space through the adoption of significant changes in the organization, competencies , Culture and relations of the agents that participate in the mission of the University.
The first decision was that, therefore, the direct beneficiaries of the two projects were all members of the university community.
The work of the workshop was basically intended to familiarize the participants, through a collaborative practice, with project-based management orientation and its phases: problem analysis, synthesis of solutions, planning and Control of actions, execution of the same and integral evaluation of the phases and their achievements.
The initial question, have been pointed out by its promoters, was: if we want the UMU to have good governance and, therefore, a good corporate reputation, what deficiencies, what behaviors, what dysfunctions do you think are manifested or evidenced in the Institution, so that it does not occur?
The result was that more than thirty surfaced.
The project-solution goals were two.
One of them concludes that all members of the university community have the information they need to make decisions and the channels of active participation to confront it and the means of corporate transparency to disseminate it.
The other indicates that all of them develop their tasks in a context of organizational culture supported by a formal system, both internal communication that facilitates their alignment with corporate strategy and coordination that improves organizational effectiveness.
