The Government Board has given the green light to the contracting of the maintenance service, conservation and new installation of horizontal and vertical signage in the municipality of Murcia, to be carried out in the next two years, and with an investment for the tender of About one and a half million euros.

All with a budget of € 1,479,600.

To this is added the approval of the contracting of the supply of materials for signaling and marking in Murcia and its districts, for a global amount of € 480,000 of tender.

Among the functions of the Traffic Service, which is part of the Department of Traffic, Safety and Citizen Protection, there are traffic work to direct and order the traffic of vehicles and people on urban roads, as well as planning and scheduling the Traffic signaling, among others.

By means of the present contracts will be carried out the units of work of placement, replacement, maintenance and conservation of the material of marking and vertical and horizontal signaling, necessary to undertake new actions and reorganizations of new implantation that are realized in all the Municipal Term, like For the correct maintenance of the same, that due to multiple vandal acts, accidents and others, it needs to be replaced or repaired daily.

As an example, it is worth mentioning that last May, more than 100 restorations were carried out for vandalism and various accidents: replacement of broken mirrors, bent signs, bent or broken poles, etc.

This contract expands its amount with respect to the previous one, in force today, by 20% for the main reasons:

Además, la utilización de nuevos elementos de señalización y balizamiento con fondos reflexivos nivel III, luminosos, diferentes tipos de catadióptricos, señalización luminosa, etc., que mejoran la seguridad vial y que se considera necesario sean incorporados al estocaje del Ayuntamiento de Murcia, avanzando en nuevas tecnologías e incorporando las últimas tendencias fruto del I+D+I.
