The budgets guarantee the development of the City Strategy where the neighbors themselves have chosen the future of Murcia

The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, met this afternoon with all the mayors and speakers of the Popular Municipal Group in order to encourage them to continue their work and work in the districts and districts of Murcia to ensure the quality of Life of the neighbors of the municipality.

Ballesta has defended that "the budgets approved yesterday in the Extraordinary Plenary ensure the development of the City Strategy that we have been developing for two years, a participatory strategy where the neighbors have chosen the future of Murcia with projects such as San Esteban or the Greenway of the Southern Coast ".

"We have not come here to manage these budgets, but we have come to work, to lead and to transform each neighborhood and each hamlet of the municipality, putting the focus of attention on the neighbors, protagonists of the change that we have been carrying out", emphasizes the Mayor.

Ballesta explained that these budgets are the most decentralized, providing greater autonomy to the districts and neighborhoods, and more investors, noting that "never before in the history of this City Council have managed so much budget, this implies that they can develop In a more effective way its work, now these Municipal Boards will directly manage 17.6 million euros. "

Expected expenditure in neighborhoods and districts amounts to 71.9 M €, which represents 29.17% of the resources available by the City.

Of these, 17.6 M € will be direct or indirect management of municipal boards, 13 M € of current expenditure for maintenance and conservation of sports facilities, municipal centers, schools, etc .;

25.2 M € of investments planned by the different councils and 15.9 M € extrabudgetary funding, in charge of treasury remnants to carry out works in districts.

Of the total funds destined to investments, the districts and districts will be the great beneficiaries since they will receive millionaire investments, concreted in more than 96,5 M €.

A new Single Office of districts and districts and Council of Mayors

In addition, the City of Murcia will launch a new Single Office of districts and districts that will be responsible for facilitating the daily work of municipal boards and the presidents thereof.

Its mission will be to assist in the management of administrative procedures between the different services and councils and representative bodies of the districts.

On the other hand, the Council of Mayors aims to promote and advise the management of the districts, being a useful tool for them.
