The Governing Board has approved the specifications to acquire a remotely piloted and unmanned aerial system that will be used by the Department of Urban Planning to update the cartography.
It is a totally autonomous equipment that does not require other external services, thanks to which it will be possible to carry out the whole process up to the final product that is the cartography and orthophotography, completing the following works:
Quality control of cartographic products contracted by Urbanism
Photogrammetric surveys for updating municipal cartography
Production of cartography of certain areas of the municipality
Orthophoto Generation of Localized Areas
The aircraft will have vertical take-off and landing with multi-rotor, navigation equipment, ground control station and planning software, cameras and sensors incorporated, photogrammetry software, batteries and accessories necessary for the correct operation of the equipment.
The City Council will invest 36,000 euros in this new system, which will be available within two months.
This tool, together with the new GPS and photogrammetric station, is part of the investment made by the City Council in the Central Cartography Service to update its urban information.
