NOW MURCIA denounces the damages caused to different trees during the works carried out in the avenue Prince of Asturias in the last weeks.
The spokeswoman, Alicia Morales, says that "in anticipation that machinery would be used in these works and that it could affect the alignment trees, as it has been, they should have protected these specimens, but nothing has been done To avoid damaging them ".
The Councilor denounces "the improvisation and lack of interest of the City Council to do things well and to treat the trees with the care that deserves" and notes that the municipal group has addressed the councils of Development and Modernization of the Administration to request Information on the works carried out and on the measures of protection that were taken, if they had taken them.
Morales also explains that neighbors in the area reported that the cork trees of these same trees - their base - were filled with concrete: "Some of these specimens are of considerable size, with large trunks and roots, and the concreting of Its base suffocates and facilitates breakage of the surrounding pavement ".
The mayor asks "that the corresponding councils take more seriously the care of the township, planning the actions and acting with responsibility for the maintenance of this important natural heritage."
