From the 10th to the 14th of July, the III edition of the course "Early Care in the Family" is held at the Centro Universitario ISEN in Cartagena.
The activity is part of the program of the International University of the Sea-Campus Mare Nostrum, the summer courses of the University of Murcia.
The address is given by María Cristina Sánchez López, from the Department of Research and Diagnosis in Education at the University of Murcia.
It is understood by Early Attention the set of actions that are developed to meet the needs presented by children from 0 to 6 years who have a problem in their development or are at risk of suffering it.
Early Care works for the benefit of the child, and aims to limit the consequences of an alteration or disorder in development.
It is essential to facilitate family and social integration and to generate competent environments around the child.
The course tries to provide professionals and students theoretical foundations, practical notions and tools aimed at improving that child's development and at the same time increase the quality of family life.
But the work in Early Childhood Care does not focus on improving the child's development, but rather on having its main caretakers, including the family, acquire the necessary skills to be able to accompany the child's development now and in the future.
All the speakers of the course are professionals who have a direct and close relationship with the intervention with children and families in the field of Early Care.
The enrollment can be made until July 4, and aims to bring professionals to the new paradigm of Early Care, which has experienced a change through practices focused on the family and the environment, compared to the traditional model Outpatient treatment.
The activity also seeks to respond to the professional and social demand that is currently getting to know and deepen the family-centered Early Care model.
This work approach has been in our country for a few years but, despite its novelty in Spain, it is a working approach with a huge scientific guarantee and is very widespread outside our borders.
The course is aimed at students and professionals in Education, Pedagogy, Psychology, Speech Therapy, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Medicine, and anyone interested in the subject.
It has a duration of 30 hours, and has the recognition of Sanitary Interest Course by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia.
Students enrolled will receive 3 free credits and 1 ECTS credit - CRAU.
