The course on cell therapy "Cell Therapy: from the bench to the bedside and return", taught included in the program of the University of the Sea-Campus Mare Nostrum, aims to disseminate knowledge about stem cells and their therapeutic possibilities, With special emphasis on regenerative medicine and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
Cell therapy is one of the most advanced healing or improvement therapies in the field of medicine.
According to those responsible for the course, cell therapy is one of the most effective areas in many diseases, not only in the treatment of cancer.
They are, they affirm "of the future of Medicine".
Specific objectives of the activity include the analysis of different types of stem cells, their biological properties and the characteristics that allow their manipulation in the laboratory and clinical use, as well as to make known the new types of bone marrow transplants and the Impact of modulation of the immune system on its results.
The course is led by professors José M. Moraleda, Damián García Olmo, Robert Sackstein and Salvador Martínez.
The activity will take place from 10 to 12 July in the Alcázares, with a duration of 20 hours.
Those who enroll in this activity will be entitled to 2 free credits or 0'5 ECTS-CRAU credits.
