The Social Court authorized the withholding of these invoices to ensure that workers collect unpaid payrolls.
Conchita Ruiz insists that the priority of the City Council is to guarantee the service to users and the right of employees to collect the amounts that the company owes them for their work.
The City of Murcia, through legal services, is studying what measures to adopt with the invoices that were withheld from the previous home assistance company to ensure that this money would be used to pay the payroll of the workers.
This measure was agreed by the Governing Board in April, and authorized by the Social Court.
However, there has now been a decision of the Commercial Court to pay the company the amounts that were withheld.
"The priority of the City of Murcia has always been to guarantee the service of home help to the nearly 2,000 users who receive it and, on the other hand, guarantee the basic labor right of workers to collect their payrolls," recalls the Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz.
The matter is in the hands of the municipal legal services, which must establish what measures can be implemented, after the resolutions both judicial estates.
