About a hundred volunteers have been involved in the initiative "Pintemos Santa Eulalia", which was developed yesterday afternoon and today in the neighborhood, framed in the project Urban DNA.
The work of all has allowed the painting of 50 façades and blinds that were deteriorated and thanks to this innovative action they have improved the aesthetic image of this environment and eliminate existing vandal paints, especially in the streets San José, Luisa Aledo and Isabel the Catholic.
Among the 100 volunteers who participated were members of the Gilwell scout group.
In total, about 200 kilos of paint have been used, which, like the other materials used, have been provided by the Municipal Employment Service.
Both the Mayor, José Ballesta, and the Councilors for Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, and Youth and Development Cooperation, José Guillén and Rebeca Pérez, respectively, have supported the initiative with their presence this morning in Santa Eulalia.
"It is a social awareness campaign to keep the neighborhood clean, but it also has an educational side, since there are many children and young people who have joined it," said Ballesta, who also highlighted the role of social awareness and participation , Since we all share the responsibility to keep our city clean, to care for and maintain it, because it belongs to everyone.
On the other hand, these works are in addition to those carried out in recent weeks by the Grafiti Municipal Office, which has made murals in 1,000 square meters of walls of Santa Eulalia.
The cleaning of vandal graffiti has been one of the actions most demanded by the neighbors during the period of participation of the project of revitalization of Santa Eulalia.
