The National Competition 'Think Big' Fundación Telefónica had among the 30 best projects to all presented by the Region of Murcia, among them were two works in which students from the Catholic University of Murcia participated: 'SAMEBullying', which educates To children to prevent bullying through new technologies, and 'Bauspace', which collects the most important information from social networks.
The team formed by Javier Iniesta, a student of the Degree in Computer Engineering at UCAM, and Paloma Teruel, a student of the Degree in Labor Relations of the same university, were awarded for their project 'SAMEBullying'.
This application is installed in the social networks of the minors to monitor their comments, and when this artificial intelligence detects that the minor writes some stalker comment or uploads an inappropriate photo, talks from the chat with the adolescent to recriminate his attitude and also warns Their parents by mail.
"Our goal is to educate the child to prevent him from becoming a stalker, but the app also detects if he suffers bullying through Facebook and Twitter," explains Iniesta.
Now she is improving this project with her partner, "because we want to work with psychologists so that the message that the application sends to the adolescent is more effective."
Daniel Hernández, a student of the Degree in Computer Science, participated in another team winning the edition by the project 'Bauspace', which is a tool of analysis of 'Big Data', which filters the most important information in social networks To separate it from the information noise.
"Before an event like the fall of the ficus in the Plaza de Santo Domingo de Murcia, the application gathers the information that takes place from the moment the event occurs until the media arrive to cover it," says Hernández.
On November 30 Telefónica Foundation celebrates the Day Big Think Demo where both teams will show their projects to investors in order to get more funding to get their ideas forward.
