The Murcia can actively collaborate in the renovation of the neighborhood of Santa Eulalia.
The Department of Development, Institutional Relations and Trade, Employment, Tourism and Culture, and Youth and Development Cooperation, will carry out this weekend an innovative action that falls within the project Urban DNA.
Thus, all Murcia who may wish to participate voluntarily in the painting of facades of buildings and blinds of the shops of the neighborhood thus improving their aesthetics and eliminating the existing vandalic graffiti.
The activity will take place tomorrow Friday from 17 to 21.30 hours and Saturday from 8.30 to 13 hours.
To participate or to request the painting of the premises you have to register by calling or writing a whatsapp to the phone 680 21 59 50 or sending an email to the address participaacion@ayto-murcia.es.
To date, 50 people have been registered as volunteers among the scout group Gilwell328, CEPAIM and the Center for Women, among others
According to estimates, approximately 5,000 square meters of walls and blinds will be renovated, reaching almost all the streets of the neighborhood and with special emphasis on those with more painted ones like San José, Luisa Aledo and Isabel la Católica.
Both the painting and other materials will be provided by the Municipal Employment Service.
The facades and blinds will be painted the same color as the original.
Although this action will not involve any expense for the merchants, a donation is requested to invite the participants to a snack on Friday and a lunch on Saturday, which can be done through the newly created association of merchants in the neighborhood.
These works are in addition to those made in recent weeks by the Grafiti Municipal Office which has made murals in approximately 1,000 square meters of walls of Santa Eulalia.
The cleaning of vandal graffiti has been one of the actions most demanded by the neighbors during the period of participation of the project of revitalization of Santa Eulalia.
