The PSOE warns Ballesta that he will continue to demand that the abandonment of the districts cease and that the Employment Pact be implemented, among other things (19/06/2017)

Susana Hernández meets for the first time with the mayor of Murcia as spokesperson for the Socialist Group to reiterate the main demands and lines of work of the PSOE and to insist on some of the most urgent actions for the municipality

The spokeswoman of the Socialist Municipal Group, Susana Hernández, has held Monday the first meeting with the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, already from the portavocía of the PSOE.

In this meeting, Hernández wanted to underline the main lines of work and demand of the Socialist Group and insist, as it could not be otherwise, on the actions that the municipality needs most urgently.

The mayor has transferred to Ballast the irreplaceable objective of the Socialist Group "to end inequalities and imbalances between the districts and some neighborhoods with the center of Murcia. There are no Murcia first or second, and we will not allow - as we have come Making-that some of the neighbors and neighbors are treated differently, obviating that they also pay their taxes and that they also reside in this municipality "

In this sense, the Socialist spokeswoman has also referred to some of the more immediate needs for Murcia, such as the improvement of transport (frequency, lines, better connection between the districts and the price of the ticket) or the strengthening of the Single Office in The districts "giving it more means and personnel to bring us closer to a real decentralization and an improvement of the service offered to citizens in their own villages.

Hernández has reminded the mayor of Murcia, in addition, that the Pact for Employment, approved in municipal Plenary on the proposal of the PSOE, "still in stalemate," and urged "to implement as soon as possible the machinery to encourage the creation Of employment in the municipality and to achieve the objectives for which this Pact was devised. Staying idly by letting time pass should not be, of course, the way of acting of the seventh municipality of Spain.

"The need to increase security in the municipality and to reinforce the Local Police corps with new additions has been another of the basic pillars that I addressed in the meeting with the mayor, to whom I have also transferred the importance of 'caring' for Public officials, without which the City of Murcia would not function. I also asked the mayor to reactivate the Commission for Remunicipalisation of Services (which has only met once) which, among other things, would avoid problems as serious as Illegal transfer of workers (Museo Ramón Gaya or Statistical Service).

Hernández has also stressed the importance of social policies and the commitment to public education, remembering Ballesta one of the flags of the PSOE.

"There is a need for more public schools in the municipality and a real maintenance of public schools that suits the needs of the 21st century. While, for example, there are schools without shade or without the appropriate electrical installation to be able to put the air conditioning, The City of Murcia will have part of the responsibility of the poor conditions that the students of Murcia pass. "

Finally, the socialist spokesman has once again asked the mayor of Murcia to demand immediately that the Murcia High Speed Society meet.

"The Society met for the last time in January 2016 even though we have requested it through every channel imaginable and on numerous occasions. We ask the mayor to demand the meeting of Murcia High Speed as a member of its Board of Directors And we remind him that for the Socialist Group burial is a question that can not be waived. "
