The Department of Development, led by Roque Ortiz, on the proposal of the Federation of Deaf People of the Region of Murcia, will light tomorrow the facade of the annex to the Town Hall in turquoise blue on the occasion of the National Day of Languages Signs
The aim of this gesture is to help bring Spanish sign languages closer to society, as well as to establish values of tolerance towards diversity.
The National Day of Languages of Spanish Signs was adopted in 2014 in Council of Ministers, and since then it is celebrated every June 14 because on the same day of 1936 the National Confederation of Deaf People (CNSE) was set up. Associative network has made it possible for these languages, the language of Castilian and Catalan signs, to be valued in society.
