Over two years ago I assumed with pride and true honor the mandate to lead the Socialist candidacy to the City of Murcia, so, now that it's time to leave, I want to thank Rafael González Tovar and my party, the PSOE, this opportunity Which I felt as a recognition.
I extend this thanks to all of the socialists in the municipality of Murcia, from general secretaries of the different groups, representatives in the municipal councils, to the last member, whom I encourage to continue working for what they believe.
Of course, without wanting to highlight anyone, I must make a special mention to the Municipal Group to the full, councilors, pedantry, vocals and technical personnel because I know that moves the general interest and improving the lives of our neighbors.
The goal is so high and so noble that, despite the bold and sometimes unreachable daily effort, they should feel satisfied and comforted.
Of course, I would also like to thank the attention given me by the media.
Indeed, without its diffusion, our work is difficult to know and, sometimes, even to understand.
Thank you, really, everyone.
And the best way to reward you is to show my availability to continue in the line of improving and increasing the quality of life of our neighbors.
You can count on me.
In addition to gratitude, I want to explain that my march occurs without anger or rancor.
I have no reason.
I leave for consistency that for me has much, everything, to do with respect, which I feel and prodigy the citizens and my party and that I practiced avoiding confrontation, disagreements and divisions.
As I have said on one occasion, I have come to add, to reconcile, to dialogue and to wake up.
I also go for dignity, a value that I have never renounced and at this point in my life has become even more unshakable.
I believe that although there is much to be done, we have done an honest and noble work betting on the true administrative decentralization and citizen participation, to improve the management of the City, for the revision of the big contracts and of the General Plan of Urban Planning, for Employment policies, social and cultural as well, away from advertising and advertising ...
We have also been working for five months to carry out a project of Budgets that, first, served all citizens of Murcia, those who vote for us and those who do not, and second, allow us to govern socialists without being in municipal government .
I hope all that effort we have made, all that arduous negotiation, is seen as a practical example of that vision that I have made, as a saint and sign, of the kind Murcia that I have vindicated and which I have so much urged, Imagined of a color, the PTE, of Participation, Transparency and Efficiency.
As Mahatma Gandhi said, "our reward lies in the effort and not in the result. A total effort is a complete victory."
For all this, I also leave proudly, knowing that I have done everything in my power to favor, improve and help the residents of Murcia.
I end by thanking once again, especially those who have been loyal and working at my side in the Municipal Socialist Group.
And of course I want to show my satisfaction for this experience so close to the citizens.
For me, the best of this stage is over.
I end with another very illustrative phrase by the French writer Alfred de Vigny: "Honor consists in making beautiful what you are obliged to perform."
Thank you very much to all.
