The Council of Social Rights, directed by Conchita Ruiz, has received the approval of the Governing Board of the City of Murcia to grant a subsidy of 6,000 euros to the International Association Phone of Hope for the implementation of projects and activities during The year 2017.
The Association has among its preferred purposes to provide a permanent emergency help service, by telephone or in person, to all persons, families or groups requesting it in a situation of conflict, free of charge, anonymously and specialized.
Priority and preference are given to crises in which life, mental health and physical or mental integrity of persons are at risk.
The concrete actions planned for 2017, which will benefit more than 300 people, focus on the "Aid Agents" Program, a systematic training in the skills needed for the effective help relationship, which targets people Volunteers between the ages of 21 and 65 and which takes place in three stages:
- 2 Intensive 35-hour intensive "Know-to-Grow" courses, including 12 sessions of support and group counseling and complementary personal support.
- 2 Intensive "Grow to Help" courses of 35 hours in boarding school, which also include later sessions of support and group counseling.
- 2 Seminars "Relation of Help" of 12 weekly sessions of 1.30 hours of duration.
- Training course of group dynamizers (courses, group dynamics, workshops) that includes: 1 theoretical-practical course of the weekend, deepening stage and specific intensive training, and co-piloting that supervises works with Groups with an experienced coordinator.
- Continuing Volunteer Training Course, "the enneagram and its application to volunteer action", aimed at volunteers who are already collaborating in one of the departments.
Includes Cohabitation of 1 or 2 days and work sessions for the different help agents and monthly meetings where the most important aspects related to motivation and responsibility of volunteering are worked.
