The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, and the Councilor for Town Planning, Orchard and Environment, Antonio Navarro, inaugurated this morning the Conference 'Smart Cities and Eco-innovative Companies', organized by the City Council and CEEIM And held in the annex to the City Hall.
Coinciding with World Environment Day, the program of dissemination of European policies against climate change has been presented, as well as the presentation of the report on Smart Cities and Eco-innovative Companies: Financing Opportunities in the EU prepared by CEEIM.
They have also made known Made in Murcia services and technological products, developed by innovative Murcia companies, which optimize the resources, energy or environmental, used in Smart City projects, among other areas.
Councilors have stressed that "public institutions and companies share the same desire to create growth through entrepreneurship and innovation. The social and technological context and the needs of our cities have precipitated a framework in which only the Companies and business models that stand out for their level of digitalization and their ability to justify the sustainability of their actions and their business models "
They also highlighted "two major milestones of vital interest and importance for the city of Murcia and in which the City Council works especially intensely. The first of these milestones is the concession of 5.4 million euros (8 million if we take into account the Municipal contribution) in the second call of RED.es digital cities to implement the project MiMucia, a project designed to achieve a deep Digital transformation of our city and to create a more open and close to the citizen.
The second is the grant of 14 million euros of ERDF funds managed through the 2nd call for EDUSI, which recognizes the best strategies presented in the city and in which Murcia has been selected with its project "IT Murcia. ".
