The Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility of UCAM has today created a space of marked municipal character, in which representatives of the state and regional administration have also participated, in which experiences, good practices and commitments have been exchanged with the individual rights and Groups of people.
It was in the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Companies, in an act inaugurated by the Director General of Labor Relations and Social Economy, Nuria Fuentes, where the mayors of 15 municipalities and two senators intervened, and closed by the president of the Federation of Municipalities, Joaquín Hernández Gomariz.
The objective is to open a space for debate on social innovation, sustainability, social hiring, bonds and activities aimed at eradicating social exclusion and poverty.
The director of the Chair, Victor Meseguer says that in the Region of Murcia a real commitment is being made in the implementation of this type of policies: "these are actions that not only improve the quality of service to citizens or the quality of employment Of workers, but also have an impact on economic benefits, "says Meseguer.
The City Councils are the public administrations closest to the citizens, so according to this chair are the most indicated to promote these policies.
"In Molina de Segura social clauses have already been put in place in the hiring, this means that when a company presents itself to a public contest and says that it is employing people with disabilities, it has advantages to win that contest, or the City Council of San Javier, which is the first in the Region to draw up a CSR Plan and a Sustainability Report ", explains Meseguer.
At the state level, as explained by the Secretary of State for Social Policy and Equality, David Lafuente, the "Network of Challenges" is being promoted, an initiative that seeks synergies between autonomous communities committed to social contracting and Environmental projects.
The Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility of UCAM, which is part of the network of chairs of the Bank of Santander, seeks an alliance between the public and private sectors.
"We are looking for an alliance that becomes the most important in terms of CSR. For this reason, we have already gathered over 200 entrepreneurs who have passed through the Catholic University of Murcia to share their practices with the students of the Master of Science Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Diplomacy of UCAM, we want it to become a forum open to society that disseminates good CSR practices, "says Meseguer.
This act has served as an anteroom for a congress on this subject will be held in October.
