The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, spoke today at the 'Forum on efficiency in contracting public services' organized by Expansión and El Mundo, in which he proposed a decalogue to optimize the efficiency of local administration.
"Consensus, public information and transparency in the adjudication processes, a clear and transparent legal framework, the study of the best solution in the appropriate timeframe, competitive concurrence, independence and capacity of municipal employees, commitment, the prevalence of social objectives , Fair distribution of costs and benefits, and a correct allocation of risks, "are the ten points on which the mayor of Murcia has deepened in his presentation.
In this sense, José Ballesta has stressed the need to "always put the public and general interest on staff and private."
"The priority is the welfare of citizens and the progress of society.
Governments should act as catalysts, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit and providing innovative solutions, "he reflected.
This national meeting, held in Madrid, has made it possible to analyze, through different panels of experts, the main aspects in the provision of municipal services, focusing on technological innovation and continuous improvement of services.
Representatives of the municipalities of Malaga, Madrid and Tarragona, as well as the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) have also participated as speakers.
