The City Council wanted to celebrate the day of Santa Rita, Patron of municipal employees, with an extensive program of participatory activities to which hundreds of public employees have been added throughout this week.
In total, 450 municipal employees participate in cultural activities and guided tours around the city, walking and cycling routes, sports tournaments, table games competitions, etc.
In addition, the Board of Personnel of the City Council has organized for today a meal of brotherhood in the Mesón La Torre which will attend more than 250 municipal employees.
Previously, the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, presided over the act of tribute to officials who retire during this 2017, within the events for the festival of Santa Rita, which is celebrated on May 22.
In total, there are 64 workers who cease their activity in the City this year and who today said goodbye to their colleagues in a joyful and festive act, which also included family members and members of the Municipal Corporation.
"Today we want to recognize all your vital and professional career as public servants, your dedication and daily effort at the service of Murcia and an institution that has been working for the interests of the neighbors of this municipality for 751 years now," said the mayor .
