The Municipal Socialist Group will defend in the next plenary session a motion in which it asks the City Council to claim from the Autonomous Community the complete delineation of the Cañada Real de Torreagüera in order that it may be protected and conditioned for the use and enjoyment of all neighbors.
According to socialist councilor Begoña García Retegui, this Cañada is "one of the main cattle routes of the Region, 23 kilometers long, extending between the Rambla del Puerto de la Cadena, the mountain ranges of the Port, Cresta del Gallo and Altaona, That at the height of Zeneta enters the Valencian Community, however, the lack of boundaries prevents the proper protection of the same, so it is urgent a classification program in its entire stretch.
The Councilor acknowledges that a part of the border has culminated, but there is still an area that does not, in addition to the whole stretch is pending the demarcation, provision of infrastructure and conditioning so that it can be used properly either through its most appropriate uses, Whether traditional, tourist-recreational or environmental.
For all these reasons, it asks the Plenary to urge the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia to continue the demarcation of the rest of the Cañada Real de Torreagüera in the unrealized sections, and to immediately execute the demarcation, provision of infrastructures and Conditioning of stretches already delineated, between La Alberca and El Palmar, as well as all budgetary items referring to the project "Conditioning and signaling system of the Cañada Real de Torreagüera".
