The Councilor of Social Services of the City of Murcia has inaugurated this morning the 'Project of home organization, family economy and healthy cooking' aimed at families with the support of volunteers.

The goal, said Conchita Ruiz, is "to improve the quality of life of these people, providing them with healthy eating habits and the tools necessary to organize their domestic life more positively. Improve relations and social cohesion of the community and comment on their participation in activities and social volunteering. "

This action is to be carried out in the hamlet of Monteagudo and consists of training for people and families derived from the Social Work Unit of Monteagudo and El Esparragal, preferably families with children or dependents under their charge and recipients of Basic Income Insertion and AES, as well as families who participate in the project of Attention to cases of child unprotected.

In this way, participants will learn how to organize, how to buy food effectively, how to cook simple and healthy dishes, how to conserve unconsumed food, or how to make family budgets and how to manage them, to organize your life more positively Domestic market.

Conducting the courses

This training deals with domestic organization, family economy and healthy cooking and is carried out, today, with groups of 15 participants in two editions, the first now and the second in October.

Each one of them will have a duration of 18 hours at the rate of 6 sessions of 3 hours each.

Of particular relevance is the participation of volunteers in this project, since they will collaborate in the project, firstly by assisting the training group as a way to connect with the participants and to know the contents of the same;

And, secondly, through the tutoring and follow-up at home and abroad of the families participating in the training process and who voluntarily accept.

This project has a budget of € 2,510 for the training to be given by a cook and a professional for the contents related to domestic organization, the materials needed for each session (food and consumables) and visits to food establishments They carry purchase in them.
