The objective of the 'I Interdisciplinary Approaches to Literature: Interpreters of Dumb Masters' is to "generate a reflection on the encounter of literature with other arts, such as history and the plastic arts," said the member of the Group of Didactic Research of Language and Literature, Laura Palomo, who has organized this congress with teachers Víctor Sanchís and Ana Andúgar.
The session was held this morning in the Hall of Acts of the UCAM and was inaugurated by the vice-dean of the Degree in Education, Maria del Mar Pintado.
Throughout the day different papers were developed to approach the literature from the point of view of history, with the 'National Episodes' of Pérez Galdós that relate the Spanish policy of the nineteenth century.
In this sense, the texts of Galdós "are the order of the day and are fundamental to understand the present," Sanchís said.
In addition, we talked about the fusion between literature and photography.
"Literature and art have in common that they first catch us from emotion and suspicion, and then they get us caught up in the subject," said the rapporteur Rosa Arenas.
With this congress, "we want society to value that literature and the humanities are useful instruments for the social development of the human being, and are mechanisms of communication and transmission of culture, as well as spirituality," said Palomo.
