Following this meeting, on March 9, the first constituent Board of the Irrigation Community was held.
The constitution in Community of Regantes is a key step for this agrarian group when establishing itself as a valid interlocutor in the defense of the interests of the Region and its right to water.

The final objective is to consolidate a stable supply of desalinated water for its comuneros, starting with the expansion of the desalination plant of Valdelentisco, from the current 48hm3 up to 70hm3 that has capacity, a plant that supplies the irrigators of ten districts of the Campo murciano: Los Martinez del Puerto, Corvera, Sucina, Balsicas, Avileses, Gea and Truyols, Baños y Mendigo, Lobosillo, Barqueros and Cañada Hermosa.
In total, the guarantee of an additional 22 hm3 of water is a key supply for the use of the Murcia field, since the work per cubic hectometres used in irrigation can guarantee between 300 and 500 jobs in the case of greenhouses, reaching up to The 750 in the case of flowers, not counting the jobs generated by its commercialization.
