The Councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Huerta, Antonio Navarro, this morning presided over the placement of the energy certification plate of the auditorium of Cabezo de Torres, which gives it a "C" rating, within a scale that ranges from " A, "at best," to the "G", which is the worst rating possible.
This work responds to the actions developed by the City of Murcia, through the ALEM Service, its Local Agency of Energy and Climate Change of Murcia, thus fulfilling the requirements of the Royal Decree for the certification of energy efficiency of buildings.
This legislation obliges to have and exhibit its certificate and energy efficiency label municipal buildings of more than 500 square meters useful and with influx of public.
This process qualifies the property by means of a letter-based score, from the "A", which represents the most efficient behavior on the scale of consumption of energy and CO 2 emissions, to the "G", which is the worst possible rating .
It specifies the energy consumption expressed in KWh (kilowatt hours) of a building per m 2 and year or the theoretical emissions of CO 2 produced by that building also for m 2 and year.
In the case of the Auditorio Cabezo de Torres, the qualification obtained is the "C", a very acceptable label for a building built in 2000, which allowed it to be designed with criteria of energy efficiency, since the year of construction of the buildings Conditions the building systems and materials with which they were built, two parameters that have great weight in the energy rating.
In the case of the auditorium of Cabezo de Torres, its energy consumption is 158 KWh / m 2 year, with emissions of 28.6 kg CO 2 / m 2 year.
Antonio Navarro points out that the main objective of energy certification is to report on the energy performance of our buildings and homes, but "this information should be the starting point for improvements and reforms aimed at making them more efficient."
Explains the holder of Urbanism, Environment and Huerta stresses that "we should not only stay with the letter obtained in the energy certificate, what is important is to use this information to make our homes and public buildings in more efficient, sustainable and better use spaces energy."
In the case of improvement measures identified at the Cabezo de Torres Auditorium and that would convert its "C" rating to "B", would be the replacement of the existing lighting to LED and the installation of a photovoltaic plant of self consumption, whose study It has started.
The 2010/31 Energy Efficiency Directive specifies that, before the end of the year 2020, all new buildings will have almost zero or very low energy consumption, and the low energy requirements will require a very high proportion Of renewable energy sources.
