The Temple of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos of the Catholic University of Murcia today celebrated the second day of the 'I National Congress on School Coexistence: Innovation and intervention strategies'.
During the morning, different projects and tools have been presented to prevent and eradicate harassment among young people in schools.
The first to intervene was José Antonio Luengo, a psychologist who is a member of the team for prevention of bullying in the Community of Madrid and a professor at the Universidad Camilo José Cela, who has exhibited a 'TIC Assistant Student Program'.
The teacher has mentioned that "school harassment is a cruel phenomenon occurring in our classrooms, and although it is less frequent than what is said in the surveys, it is common enough for all of us to be present at events where we talk about how Move forward to eradicate this scourge. "
"It is very important that the University is in this debate because this phenomenon occurs in classes, in the corridors and in virtual scenarios through inappropriate behavior and it is interesting that the university is aware of how these behaviors develop in the spaces That surround the adolescents, "commented José Antonio Luengo.
Speaking about the project he is carrying out, Luengo said that "it helps peers based on the fact that older children help the little ones to manage themselves in social networks so that they have appropriate acts, respecting privacy And the intimacy of the other, improving relations in cyber-survival, since school bullying through the internet is formed by a problem of training, awareness and especially education because adults have looked away for a long time thinking that Our young people were going to know how to handle themselves in these virtual scenarios and it is not like that.Ciber-convivencia is complicated, because we do not see the person live and this leads to mistakes.Children of today are not lacking in information, they need to work More the culture of the relationship between equals, that is the most important thing in all this ".
Another speaker on this day was Mónica Ojeda, University of Seville, who talked about how to intervene against sexting, cyberbullying and other risks of cyber-survival, through the 'Asegúrate Program'.
Mónica Ojeda explained that "this program has been developed within the framework of a project funded by the Ministry of Economy and aims to intervene in the face of different types of violence that occur in social networks such as cyberbullying or sexting."
Thus, the program aims to promote reflection in the students before the action.
"It is intended to promote thinking rather than acting and to know the consequences that the use of social networks can bring, by giving them the risks so that they can prevent them. There are many dangers that young people face on the internet because nobody Has taught them to use them as they are bullying, cibergossip and dependence on social networks, "explained Ojeda.
Agustín Caruana, director of CEFIRE (Conselleria of Education, Research, Culture and Sports) of Elda and with Antonio Dos Santos, director of the Buddy Tool Kids project at Deset Technological Solutions, will be closing this afternoon, Who will expose different projects to control the emotions in the coexistence school and to avoid the harassment.
