The collaboration between the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture and the Ministry of Culture and Portability of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia has made it possible to organize different activities to commemorate the International Day of Museums on 18 May and the European Night Of the Museums, on 18 May.

One of the most international artists in Murcia, Cartagena Mateo Charris has been in charge of designing the poster of 'The Day and Night of the Museums of Murcia'.

The poster is a metaphorical and conceptual work, homage focused on the children, the game and the party which means the celebration of that day.

The children play in the Pantheon (classical art), the moon is a homage to Jeff Koons (contemporary art), to the right a sculpture of Miró (modern art) and drum (folk art, music ...).

The poster is within its artistic work and is included within the figuration called metaphysics, collecting influences from pop art and comics, cinematographic languages, multiple trips, as well as constant references to the History of Art and abundant nexus Literary

Among the activities being planned for the days of 18 to 20 May, in addition to permanent collections and temporary exhibitions in all museums, has been a special and original programming for the evening of May 20 addressed to all Audiences in the light of the stars, concerts, workshops for children, projections ... That night with an exceptional and free night opening, all the events start with the objective of facilitating access to culture to everything The world, and promises to be long and intense.

In addition, a drawing and painting competition will be held and museum passports will serve as guides and as recognition for having visited many of the museums in those days.

In addition will be drawn a numbered original of the poster made by Angel Mateo Charris.
