The start of the 2017/2018 school year already has start dates.
Elementary and junior high school students will return to the classroom on Tuesday, September 5.
An advance with respect to previous years that will allow teachers and students to enjoy throughout the course of three bridges on designated dates, such as Constitution Day and the Immaculate Conception, Hispanic Heritage Day and Employee.
Meanwhile, high school students will join, as usual, on Wednesday, September 13, at the conclusion of the Fair of Murcia.
In addition, the School Council, chaired by Councilor for Education, Rafael Gomez, has approved the holidays for the next course.
Thus, students will enjoy two local festivities (Tuesday, September 12 and Tuesday, April 3), which will join the regional and national (March 19, May 1 and June 9).
"Murcia, educating city"
Another novelty for the course 2017/2018 is the implementation of the program "Murcia, Educating City".
A plan dependent on the Education Service of the City of Murcia dedicated to the realization of visits of schoolchildren of the Municipality to places or monuments of the city.
This is intended to support the social and cultural manifestations of the capital and improve the knowledge that the students of Primary, Secondary and Secondary School have of the environment in which they live.
During the 2016/2017 academic year, the students of the educational centers of the municipality of Murcia have performed about 100 cultural, social or environmental activities.
Summer camps
The Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage has increased by 100 places for schoolchildren aged 8-10 years and 10-12 years to enjoy during the month of July Summer Camps.
In total there will be 500 places and registrations can be made from next May 2 and until the 11th through the murciaeducadora.net website.
The facilities selected for next July are the "Las Nogueras de Nerpio" Rural Complex (Albacete), "Las Alquerías" Nature Park (Regional Park of Sierra Espuña), High Performance Center (CAR) in the Mar Menor and Hostel "El Cenajo".
All of them are located in safe areas with the possibility of making itineraries, tours, excursions or sports competitions (including sea areas).
