The file was initiated by the Ministry of Culture at the request of HUERMUR, an association that promotes the protection of the Murcian heritage through citizen requests for protection within its PatrimurSOS Plan
The legal protection has occurred "in extremis", weeks before the file expired and that the possibility of obtaining this distinction for this "emblematic space of the city of Murcia"
After being made public on the morning of today that the Autonomous Community has declared Cultural Garden of Floridablanca, with the category of Historic Garden, HUERMUR has shown its joy for this fact, since it was at the request of this association, upon request To the Ministry of Culture, as began the file that has now concluded with the protection of the garden.
HUERMUR has submitted several briefs in recent months to complete the file and declare BIC protection, since the corresponding mandatory reports were issued and the deadlines for submission and allegations were met.
This association considers that the declaration BIC of the Garden of Floridablanca "has taken place in extremis", a few weeks after the legal deadline to complete the administrative file that was processed by the General Directorate of Cultural Property.
For HUERMUR, "it did not make sense that the definitive approval of the BIC protection should continue, since all the requirements had been fulfilled".
The only opposition to this procedure was the one shown at the time by the City of Murcia.
A few months ago, the District Council of Carmen also expressed its support for this statement, as indicated in the various writings of HUERMUR "the Floridablanca Garden is one of the cultural resources with more history and potential in the Barrio del Carmen , And as such must be treated. "
From HUERMUR "we will be vigilant to comply with all the legal precepts of conservation and management of the garden" and "we hope that the public administrations, once and for all, properly treat and enhance this cultural resource, which is a heritage for all The city and for the Region of Murcia ".
The association expects the General Directorate of Cultural Property to complete the remaining protection applications currently being processed in this body, giving legal protection to other monuments for which applications have been filed within the PatrimurSOS Plan.
