The motion on institutional support for patients with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and other rheumatic diseases is presented in the Plenary held tomorrow
The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, has presented a motion in the Plenary of the City of Murcia to be held tomorrow in which institutional support is requested for patients suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and other rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases in Murcia.
The City of Murcia has been collaborating with this group through the transfer of spaces to Fibrofamur, but even so, from the Popular Party, there is a need to continue to support those affected by fibromyalgia by developing a follow-up work for those affected, organizing groups Mutual help with workshops and activities.
For this reason, more visibility is requested for this disease and a special support for the World Day of Fibromyalgia and Syndrome of Chronic Fatigue that is celebrated next 12 of May.
Coello said: "The purpose of this motion is to watch over patients suffering from this disease and their families to help them improve their quality of life, collaborate in research studies and raise awareness of fibromyalgia in society."
Fibromyalgia is a generalized chronic pain process whose cause is unknown and can occur in isolation or associated with other diseases.
It is a chronic disease that can lead to depression or social isolation.
In addition, nine out of ten people with fibromyalgia are women.
At present this disease lacks treatment that produces a definitive cure of this syndrome.
For this reason, the Councilor for Sports and Health hopes the support of "all political groups to raise awareness about this disease and help to raise awareness of the problems suffered by fibromyalgia patients and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome of the Municipality and put the means Institutional services at their service to improve their well-being.
