The Councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Enrique Ayuso, has denounced on Wednesday, on International Day of Noise Awareness, that "the government of Ballesta still has not got ready the noise map that was being finalized two months ago and That there is no news. "
Ayuso has indicated that the Socialist Group has been demanding the elaboration of this map for two years and that its realization was tendered in December of 2015.
In addition, the mayor of the PSOE also recalled that the first data that was released two months ago showed the need to address as soon as possible the total mapping, since the permitted noise level was exceeded in 20% of the measurements made in Several points of the center of the city.
Of particular concern were the data in the areas of Bartolomé Pérez Casas, Menéndez Pelayo and Plaza de la Universidad.
Ayuso has urged the government of Ballesta to "set an example in the minimization of noise, starting with the activities, events and festive celebrations organized and promoted by the City of Murcia, or of which it forms part through subsidies, as in The case of the PSOE parties or the upcoming WAM festival. "
"The city has to be the first compliant anti-noise regulations and not transgress them with pyrotechnic shows late at night, turning the urban center into a theme park or authorizing the celebration of festivals during the night," said Ayuso , Who added that "one of the first municipal obligations is to set an example and demonstrate that leisure and fun are perfectly compatible with the right to rest and coexistence of citizenship."
In this sense, the mayor recalled the schedules of the WAM festival at FICA, with performances scheduled on May 5 and 6 between 4 and 6 in the morning.
In addition, on Sunday, performances are planned in full urban area (University Square, Santa Catalina and Garden of Fame) in full dessert time.
At the same time, the Socialist Municipal Group has called for tangible measures to be taken to minimize noise, through the control of leisure facilities and terraces (timetables, acoustic measures, furniture on the street, surface occupied by terraces, etc. .), Street parties and open spaces, with traffic controls on major avenues or encouraging public transportation and bicycle use.
"In particular, it is necessary for the City of Murcia to limit and order the public events on the public road, clarifying in which situations the use of sound equipment is authorized, putting in place corrective measures and ensuring that the schedules for activities and holidays are adequate To each area of the municipality, "he concluded.
